My hat is off to those bloggers who post several times a week or even — gasp! — daily. I don’t know how they do it.
Life has been crazy and that’s completely my own fault. When I enjoy something, I tend to jump into it so wholeheartedly and completely that I often find myself drowning in it. And that is what’s currently occurring in my life.
I’ve mentioned before that I belong to an organization called Sweet Adelines International, which promotes the American art form of barbershop harmony for women. At this time of year, Sweet Adelines chorus and quartets all over the world are preparing for regional competitions. And I belong to three (yes, three!) choruses. Am I crazy, you ask? Oh, yes!
So, everything else in my life is put on hold while I learn and practice singing and doing choreography for three different competition sets and attend multiple rehearsals. All will culminate in a competition in Hershey, Pennsylvania on April 10, when I will appear on stage in three different costumes, doing a quick change act between them.
Someday, I’ll do a post about how being a Sweet Adeline changed my life, but in the meantime, I just wanted to do a little “what I wore” to keep my blog afloat!
The weather has been warm, so I’ve been able to ditch the socks and boots and pull out my ankle pants. I love the look of ankle pants, because I feel as though they make my legs appear longer and slimmer.
I did a few outfits recently with scarfs and was uncomfortable in every one of them. I love the look of scarves on other women, but just can’t seem to get the hang of them for myself. So, for a little bit of visual interest on this black and white outfit, I pulled out a southwestern style necklace. I feel like the bigger jewelry is a better option for me than scarves.
I’m also sporting a new pair of shoes (a rare occurrence). In addition to my heel issues on the right foot, I’ve developed a bunion on my left, so my shoe choices are limited. I bought these Easy Street backless mules at Boscov’s, and they are very comfortable. They are on sale on Boscov’s web site for $29 (I have no connection or affiliation with Boscov’s).
I like the exposed zipper on this top. I actually wore all of these items separately on a previous post.
I actually have nothing on my schedule for the weekend. I hope you all have a stress-free and relaxing weekend as well!
WHAT I WORE:
Baxter & Wells floral jacket (thrifted)
Chico’s black and white striped top (clearance rack)
Rafaella black ankle pants (thrifted)
White House Black Market slim ankle pants (clearance rack)
Easy Street Columbia Mules (available from Boscov’s for $29)

Maggie, that floral jacket is just adorable! It is super cheerful, too. And the ankle pants really are so flattering. How fun that you are in 3 choruses. I actually am from Pennsylvania myself (Bethlehem to be exact) and just checked my calendar because we are visiting home in April….but it is not until the weekend after your performances. Boo. I may have popped by to see you sing in person! Thanks for linking up with me On the Edge! And keep on doing what you love!

Sweet Adelines are so wonderful! Great for you that you’ve thrown yourself into it. My mother was in many choruses and a quartet, and those four ladies coming over to rehearse at our house is a fond memory. Love your floral jacket too! xox
